Information about funding in Poland
Unfortunately, Polish citizens cannot receive public funding (NFZ/PFRON) for rehabilitation programmes at our centre. The public system only funds facilities that hold contracts with the National Health Fund (NFZ), and our centre operates as a private entity.
Payment through a Foundation
The only form of external funding for stays at our centre is payment through charitable foundations. Thanks to generous benefactors and non-governmental organisations, some patients can obtain partial or full coverage of rehabilitation costs.
How does payment through a foundation work?
Find a foundation
Look for a foundation that supports people who need rehabilitation. Many foundations run fundraising campaigns for the treatment and rehabilitation of ill or injured individuals.
Submit an application
Contact your chosen foundation and submit an application for rehabilitation programme funding. Prepare medical documentation confirming the need for rehabilitation.
Receive a decision
The foundation reviews the application and decides on granting funding (partial or full).
The foundation pays for the programme
The foundation makes payment directly to our centre's account based on a pro-forma invoice. We issue an invoice in the foundation's name.
Documents required by the foundation
- Medical certificate confirming the need for rehabilitation
- Medical documentation (medical history)
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
- Programme quote/cost estimate from our centre
What we provide on our part
- Pro-forma invoice to present to the foundation
- Detailed rehabilitation programme
- Certificate of stay after completion of the programme
- Assistance in contacting foundations
Why is there no NFZ funding?
In Poland, the public rehabilitation funding system (PFRON, NFZ) only applies to facilities that hold a contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). Our centre operates as a private healthcare entity, which means:
- • We do not hold an NFZ contract for rehabilitation programmes
- • PFRON funding only applies to centres on the voivode's list
- • Publicly funded rehabilitation programmes have long waiting lists (up to 12+ months)
The advantage of our centre is no waiting lists, an individual rehabilitation programme and a high standard of care - without months of waiting.
